How it started

In January of 2020, I, April Hertz, had been a stay-at-home mom for about 9 months after leaving my Corporate job as a Facilities Coordinator when my husband got a better job. However, I started to miss adult interaction, and that’s when my best friend asked me to coordinate her January wedding. Initially confused about what a Day of Coordinator was, I took on the role, and with my type A personality, I received a lot of positive feedback from other vendors at the wedding. After discussing it with my husband, I decided to start April Hertz Coordination Services at the end of January 2020, with the thought that even if it didn’t work out, I could always go back to being a stay-at-home mom. Despite the challenges brought by Covid, I have been able to continue performing, growing, and thriving. In 2020, I successfully coordinated 13 weddings, and each year, my portfolio keeps expanding. I am now fortunate to have a dedicated team supporting me, consisting primarily of former brides, who help ensure that others’ special days are as memorable as the ones I created for them.
